Transfer to La Bresse Golf Club
Located between Lyon and Geneva, Golf de La Bresse offers a peaceful 18-hole course designed by Jeremy Pern. Surrounded by lakes, woods, and open countryside, the course combines technical variety with natural charm. With wide fairways and water in play on many holes, it’s a balanced challenge ideal for golfers of all levels.
Inaugurated in 1990, the Golf de La Bresse is set in the calm and green landscapes of the Ain department, roughly one hour northeast of Lyon. Designed by renowned architect Jeremy Pern, this 18-hole, par-72 course stretches across 6,051 meters and is known for its peaceful atmosphere and strategic layout. The course unfolds across a former hunting estate, integrating existing natural features such as lakes, streams, and mature forests. These water features come into play on more than half of the holes, adding both beauty and challenge. Wide fairways allow some margin for error, but accurate placement is essential to approach well-protected greens, many of which are slightly elevated or sloped.
The routing offers a pleasing rhythm: open holes with views of the Bresse plain alternate with more enclosed, tree-lined fairways. Notable holes include the par-5 5th with its split fairway and water hazard, and the par-3 15th played over a pond : a visually striking and nervy shot late in the round. In addition to the main course, the club includes a 6-hole compact course, ideal for beginners and short-game practice. Practice facilities also feature a covered driving range, large putting green, and short-game area. The clubhouse is warm and rustic, featuring a restaurant with a terrace that overlooks the 18th green and surrounding countryside. The welcoming atmosphere and natural setting make La Bresse popular with both locals and traveling golfers. Thanks to its blend of technical design and serene environment, Golf de La Bresse stands out as one of the most enjoyable and well-rounded courses in the broader Lyon-Geneva region.

Transfer to Lyon Golf Club
Located just 25 minutes northeast of Lyon, Golf Club de Lyon is a prestigious 36-hole facility nestled within a 220-hectare nature reserve along the Rhône River. The club boasts two distinct 18-hole courses: Les Brocards, inaugurated in 1965, and Les Sangliers, opened in 1991. Both courses, designed by Fred Hawtree and Hugues Lambert, offer a blend of technical challenges and natural beauty, featuring tree-lined fairways, strategic water hazards, and undulating terrains. As a multiple-time host of the French Open, including José María Olazábal's victory in 2001, the club stands as a symbol of golfing excellence in France.
Established in 1965, Golf Club de Lyon relocated to Villette-d’Anthon due to urban development pressures in its original location. The move allowed for the creation of two exceptional courses that harmoniously integrate with the surrounding natural environment.
Les Brocards, the original course, is a par-72 layout stretching 6,105 meters. Despite its seemingly gentle appearance, it presents a formidable challenge with its long par-3s, numerous doglegs, and subtly contoured greens. The course's design requires strategic shot placement and a full range of skills, making it a favorite among members. Notably, Les Brocards hosted the French Open in 1979 and the Open de Lyon on the European Tour from 1992 to 1994, highlighting its competitive pedigree.
Les Sangliers, introduced in 1991, is a championship-level course measuring 6,575 meters with a par of 72. Set within a pristine woodland, the course features water hazards on nine holes, expansive greens with subtle breaks, and a variety of hole designs that test both physical endurance and strategic thinking. The course's signature holes include the par-3 14th, requiring a precise tee shot over water, and the risk-reward par-5 18th, offering a dramatic finish. Les Sangliers has earned acclaim for its challenging yet fair design, attracting golfers seeking a rigorous test of skill.
The club's facilities are comprehensive, featuring a 50-station driving range (25 covered), multiple putting and chipping greens, and a well-appointed clubhouse with a pro shop, locker rooms, and a restaurant offering panoramic views of the courses. Visitors are welcome throughout the week, with certain restrictions during member competitions. The club's commitment to excellence, combined with its rich history and natural beauty, solidifies Golf Club de Lyon's reputation as a premier golfing destination in France.

Nestled in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu appellations, Domaine Rémi Niero is a family-run vineyard that embodies the excellence and tradition of Northern Rhône Grand Crus. With a winemaking legacy dating back to 1973, the estate is renowned for producing some of the most elegant and expressive wines in the region.
Rémi Niero, now joined by his son Kevin, crafts wines that reflect both the unique terroir and the family’s deep commitment to quality. The estate spans approximately 9 hectares, with steep, sun-drenched granite slopes overlooking the Rhône River, ideal conditions for the Viognier and Syrah grape varieties. In Condrieu, the white wines are pure and aromatic, with notes of peach, apricot, and white flowers, delivering freshness and finesse. In Côte-Rôtie, the reds are powerful yet refined, combining spice, black fruits, and silky tannins, hallmarks of the world’s greatest Syrah. The vineyard follows sustainable farming practices and precise vinification techniques, blending tradition with innovation. Whether visiting the cellar, walking the terraced vineyards, or tasting directly with the winemaker, guests are treated to a personalized and immersive experience. Domaine Rémi Niero has earned praise from wine critics worldwide and is a hidden gem for those who appreciate Grand Cru craftsmanship in an authentic, welcoming setting.

At the heart of the Hermitage appellation in the northern Rhône Valley lies Maison M. Chapoutier, one of the most iconic and respected wine estates in France. Led by the visionary Michel Chapoutier, this family-owned domaine has built its reputation on authenticity, terroir expression, and biodynamic winemaking.
Since taking over the estate in 1990, Michel Chapoutier has transformed the house into a benchmark for Rhône wines. With a philosophy rooted in minimal intervention and respect for nature, he was a pioneer in converting all vineyards to biodynamic agriculture, allowing the soils and vines to express their full potential.
The estate produces some of the world’s most sought-after wines, particularly from Hermitage, where Chapoutier owns parcels in the most legendary lieux-dits: Le Méal, L’Ermite, Les Greffieux, and more. These Grand Cru Syrah wines are known for their power, complexity, and exceptional aging potential. Equally celebrated are his white Hermitage wines, crafted from Marsanne, offering richness, minerality, and remarkable longevity.
Michel Chapoutier is also deeply committed to accessibility and education. Braille appears on every label, a tribute to Maurice Monier de la Sizeranne of Hermitage, inventor of the abbreviated Braille system and former vineyard owner.
Visitors to the estate can enjoy tastings, vineyard tours, and wine workshops, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Rhône hills. Chapoutier’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and terroir makes this estate a must-visit for wine connoisseurs.
